Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who we all know as the founder of Hindavi Swaraj, has been a continuous source of inspiration to all the thousands of people around the world. Chhatrapati Shivrai had sculpted an entire kingdom free from Mughal regime which was a huge challenge as the whole of India was ruled by the Mughals and other similar foreign invasions. His courage, valour and gallantry are second to none and have kept inspiring people over the years. His guerilla tactics and administrative methods have been adopted in the syllabus of many countries and are taught to History and military students. We know Maharaj not only as a king but also as a visionary, great administrator, economist and a compassionate but fierce patriot who for his sheer love for country arose a great rebellion after a long history of 800 years of tyranny and cruelty.
On the auspicious occasion of the 393rd birth anniversary of this great Maratha king, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Heritage Club at St. John International School on 17th February 2023. The assembly was commemorated with prayers followed by lighting of lamp by the Principal, Sr. Veena Monteiro. Thereafter, students were enlightened with the glory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Miss. Shifa Shaikh of Grade VIII A. Then to signify the greatness of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj an astounding Powada was sung by Mast. Sarth Chile of Grade I B. The assembly concluded with an informative quiz conducted by Mast. Aditya Sawant of Grade VIII B to test the general knowledge of this great Maratha warrior. The students also responded enthusiastically.
