Field Trip to Surya Dam

A field trip to Dam was arranged with an aim to make learning experience more powerful and impactful. It maximises the learning required for thoughtful work done before and after the trip.

Student of Grade VI visited Maswan Surya Dam on 16th November 2019. The learning outcome of this field trip was to give the children a natural environment for learning and making the learning more joyful and interactive. This dam is also called as Dhamni Dam. The Construction of dam was completed in 1990. The Officers of Surya Dam were glad to welcome our students and explained the process of supplying water to cities. They explained that the water comes from Dahanu Surya Dam to Maswan Surya Dam , from there it is collected in two wells and the water passes through four big pumps to Dhuktan Water Filter plant. The water gets filtered at that plant and they supply filtered water to cities like Virar, Vasai . The main purpose of this dam is for agriculture in near by Village .

Our curious young minds interacted with the officer and asked various queries. doubts were happily answered by the Officer.
