Independence Day Celebration

The 72nd Independence Day of India was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme started with welcoming the Chief Guest- Dr. Ajit Kumar along with the other dignitaries, Dr (Mrs) Savita Tauro, Deputy Campus Director and Principal of St. John Institute of Pharmacy and Research, Mr Karunakar Shetty General Manager of the Campus and Sr. Hilda the Superior of St. John’s Convent.

Our Principal Sr. Apoline Pais along with the school band lead by Raj Patel, escorted the dignitaries towards the Flag Pole. The guests were then welcomed with floral bouquets by the students.

The Chief Guest Dr. Ajit Kumar hoisted the National Flag, and the National Anthem was sung by the entire gathering followed by a well co-ordinated march by the girls and boys cadets. This was followed by a melodious patriotic song sung by the students of Grade VI to IX.

Master Hritesh Maikap introduced the days Chief Guest and invited him to address the gathering. The Chief Guest Dr Ajit Kumar in his speech reminiscences the evolution of this powerful nation, mentioned the diversity of the Indian culture and said that India is one of the most dynamic and enterprising country in the world. He called upon the students to do their best for the betterment of the country as her future citizens.

Miss Gargi Marle of Grade VI highlighted the importance of Independence Day through her speech. Finally the programme came to an end with a dance performed by the students, which brought a very colourful end to the programme.
