Khadi Wearing Day
As a part of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, St. John International School celebrated Khadi wearing day on 19th December 2019 in the school premises. The students of Grade VIII wore Khadi clothes, accessories and carried Khadi bags to school on a voluntary basis. Principal Sr. Apoline Pais emphasized on giving importance and impetus to the Khadi Cottage Industry. This was done to encourage Khadi as a means of strengthening self-reliance and sustenance to rural India. Students were briefed about the role Khadi played in India’s freedom movement.
