Marathi Bhasha Diwas Celebration

 

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated at St. John International School in honour of the Marathi language and in keeping with the birth anniversary of Dyanpeeth award winner poet late V. V. Shirwadkar alias Kusumagraj.

Marathi being the official language of the State of Maharashtra, a special assembly was conducted with an aim to promote the Marathi culture among the young St. Johnites. The assembly commenced with inauguration by the head of the institution, Principal, Sr. Apoline Pais. Thereafter, Constitution’s Preamble was read in Matribhasha, Marathi.  The students presented a Traditional Marathi Dance. Miss. Shriya kashikar, recited a beautiful poem “Ayushya khup sundar aahe “.

Apart from the celebration students of Grade I to IX also participated in the various Competitions like:

i. Poem Recitation Competition – Grade I & II

ii. Story telling Competition – Grade III & IV

iii. Essay Writing Competition in Marathi – Grade V & VII

iv. Debate Competition – Grade VIII & IX
