Marathi Bhasha Diwas Celebration

Marathi Bhasha Diwas is celebrated in honour of the Marathi language. It is celebrated on 27th February to rejoice the birth anniversary of Dyanpeeth award winner late poet V.V. Shirwadkar who is also known as Kusumagraj. Marathi being the official language of the State of Maharashtra, the main focus of this celebration is to promote and sustain the richness of Marathi culture among the young generation. 

To mark the birth anniversary of this great personality, a special assembly was conducted at St. John International School on 27/02/2023 with an aim to inculcate and honour the rich history and literature associated with it among Marathi-speaking communities in the state. The assembly commemorated with lighting of lamp by the Supervisor, Mrs. Laveena Fernandes and the co-ordinator Mrs. Wilma Baretto. Information on Marathi Diwas was given by Miss. Kaveri Raut followed by a poetry recitation, “Sagar Kavita”  by Miss. Bhavita Choudhary. Thereafter, a beautiful Marathi song was sung by a group of students of grade IV and VII. 

Students of Grade I to V wrote a paragraph from their Marathi textbook and Essay writing activity was conducted for the students of Grade VI to VIII. All the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
