Report on World Environment Day

The World Environment Day was celebrated in St. John International School on 17th June 2019 at 11.00 am. The Students of Class IX & X along with their teachers Ms. Laveena Fernandes and Mr. Ritesh Yadav had planned and executed the program. Mr. Rahul Marathe Range Forest Officer from Dahanu was the guest for the program. The program began with a prayer for the environment followed by the prayer song. The esteemed dignitaries Mr. Rahul Marathe and Mr. K.K Shetty were felicitated by the Principal. Then the students Nikita Panchal and Nauman Shaikh shared information on the Environment day and along with the facts of air pollution. Then the students of Grade IX & X performed a skit showing the causes of Air pollution and ways to control it. The choir group sang a song “The Earth is our Home”. Then all the students took oath to preserve the nature and to plant trees. Each and everyone is responsible to protect and care for the environment. Then the Chief guest of the day inspired the students with his motivational speech he urged the students to plant trees and to take care of it and emphasised that it is not only for one day but all need to take care of the trees throughout their life. This was then followed by the tree plantation by Grade IX & X students. The students along with the Guest,Principal and the Secretary of Aldel Education Trust Mrs. Elvina D’Souza planted saplings/plants in the school garden and promised to look after it everyday.
