Womens Day programme was observed with great enthusiasm in St.John International School.

The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students on the importance of Women in life. They play a variety of significant roles in our society from the time of their birth to the end of their life. Inspite of her doing all the work, in an efficient manner, in the modern society she is still treated as weak because men are considered the strongest gender of the society. All awareness programmes on the womens’ right done by the government is of no avail and her life has only become more complicated than that of a man.

The programme started with a speech by the student on Womens’ life and their struggles. The speech laid emphasis on the different role a woman assumes in the family namely that of a wife, a leader, an administrator, manager of family income and last but not the least important the mother. Even after taking up such a huge responsibility of the family she shines still in the field of occupation as well , as a teacher, doctor, scientist, dramatist, singer and there the list is endless. The speech expressed the importance of women in everyones life. This was followed by a poem on women’s life. Then the programme continued with a ramp walk performed by students showing the life experiences of the great personalities and the great leaders like Savitribai Phule,Rani Laxmibai,Indira Gandhi,Kalpana Chawla,Kiran Bedi,Mary Kom,Bachendri Pal,Lata Mangeshkar.

Students gave information about all these great leaders and great personalities in detail. The programme ended with a song “O ri chiraiyya nanni si chidiya angana me fir aa jare”. This song tells us that girls too are important in life. Life will be empty without their presence. Let the girls live her life freely, openly like boys do. Educate the girls, let them come up with their talents to the world. Let them stand shoulder to shoulder with men.
