World Environment Day , 2021

We at St. John International School , Palghar , celebrated the World Environment Day , 2021 on a virtual platform with great enthusiasm and zeal .An array of activities based on the theme ‘Restoring the environment ’were organized to sensitize the young minds and to contribute to raise environmental protection awareness among the population with a particular focus on youth. It started with the ‘tree plantation drive’ initiated by the students of grade I and II wherein the students took a green pledge and vowed to preserve their environment and make the earth a better place to live in. It was followed by the essay writing competition for the students of grade IX – X on the topic ‘Remedial measures for controlling the effects of global warming on the environment . It gave an opportunity to the students to share their ideas and activities for making our world cleaner, greener, and brighter.
A Virtual Poster Making Competition was organized for the students of the Grade III to V and poem writing competition for grade I -VIII .The objective of the competition was to ignite the fire of imagination and creativity in the students. The theme of the competition was ‘Save Environment’ or ‘Our Mother Earth’ while celebrating Earth Day. Students were asked to express their ideas through paintings and sketches and poems . The young learners displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters. An online webinar was conducted for the students of grade XII stressing on the need of a sustainable environment The event was conducted successfully with whole hearted participation and awareness for a greener World.
